Even though you may be using one of our free love letters you can still personalize the letter itself in many ways.Today we take a brief look at what you can do to make the love letter more appealing to the nose.
Smell is the strangest evoker of memories and emotions in humans. Why? Well for the first months of our lives we needed smell to identify our mothers. Attaching a smell to the most basic of our needs; food, comfort and love is hard wired into us.
If you wear a scent already then the choice is pretty easy when it comes to adding something to your love letter. Our noses are sensitive to pick up the ghost of your perfume so do not drown the letter, a dab or two is sufficient.
If you do not wear a scent then you need to choose one that you know that your loved one will appreciate. If they have already told you that they love the smell of vanilla for example, then linking your love to that smell will be as simple as one or two drops on the paper of each letter.
If you have no clue what they like then either you can ask them casually, or you can use something subtle and start wearing it yourself as well. Soon enough you, the scent, and your love will be linked.

While you may have chosen to use one of the services that offer free love letters, you can and should, personalize that letter.
Paper
Think of the paper you would like to receive a love letter on. Will it be thick and luxurious to the touch. Will it be almost transparent and feather light?
Some ideas for paper are
Make your ownFor the truly authentic "I made this for you" types making your own paper is the way to go. The individual nature of home made paper means that there truly is nothing quite like it.
The more adventurous paper maker can include flower petals, or used paper from presents.
The final product is limited only by the imagination of the maker.
Buy the best you can afford
For the real romantic picking your own paper to write love letters can be a sensual affair. Buying good quality paper will mean the letter will last as a momento for years to come.
If you are including pressed flowers (how to will come later). then ensure you use acid-free paper as well.
Now onto the writing.
Handwritten is best
Straight from the heart onto the paper via a pen is the ideal love letter. Hopefully your handwriting is legible, but do not despair if it is not.
You can take calligraphy lessons or teach yourself from a book. Again the effort to do it will add to the surprise and pleasure the recipient will get when they ask "did you write this yourself?"
If your writing is not as legible as you would like even after trying to learn calligraphy then seek a local source to do it for you. Check out your local paper, calligraphers are in demand to write wedding invitations etc, so look under those headings for them. Prepare to pay by the word for a single love letter.
But if you do write it yourself, what type of pen?
I always like a fountain pen with a colored ink (rather than black). But that is my personal choice. A good quality pen and ink will look better and last longer than a cheap ball point.
Also again you will feel like you are writing a real love letter, not a shopping list!
I hope this has given you some ideas on how to free love letters from your imagination!
